Police: Sears Worker Gave Big Discounts to Relatives
Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]Authorities say they are investigating a scheme in which an employee of a Sears store defrauded the company out of nearly $21,000.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the woman who worked at the Sears store in Towanda gave significant discounts to family members.
Investigators say the unauthorized price breaks occurred between June 5 and June 7.
Police say the Sears employee is believed to have cheated the store out of $20,938.45.
The woman's name was not released. Officials say the investigation is continuing.
