A North Carolina man was sent to Broome County Jail after he was arrested on a felony driving while intoxicated charge.

Authorities say 55-year-old David Walker of High Point was driving erratically on the Route 17 extension in Kirkwood.

According to state police, Walker's blood alcohol content was measured at 0.14 percent.

Troopers say Walker had been operating the vehicle while an unrestrained seven-year-old girl was lying down in the back seat.

Walker was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle. He was arraigned in Kirkwood town court and ordered held without bail.
