A man reportedly died after what was described as an "industrial accident" at a printing company in Broome County.

The incident at Courier Printing Corporation in the village of Deposit was reported around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Initial reports from the business at 24 Laurel Bank Avenue indicated the man was not breathing.

According to New York State Police, the incident occurred at the loading dock of the printing facility.

Reports indicated the man may have been pinned by a lift gate. The worker's identity has not been made public.

The company provides commercial printing services. It also prints The Deposit Courier, a weekly newspaper.

A person who answered the telephone at Courier Printing said the company had no comment about what had happened.

The regional office of the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration was unable to immediately confirm whether it had launched an investigation into the incident.
