For the second time in four days, there was a daytime shooting incident in a Binghamton West Side neighborhood.

City police received a report of shots fired in the area of Chapin Street and Gerard Avenue just after 11:30 a.m. November 13.

Witnesses told detectives they believed a man in a red sport utility vehicle fired at least two shots.

An investigator told WNBF News no one was struck by the gunfire.

The vehicle, which reportedly was occupied by one other man, sped away after the shots were fired.

Police believe the incident may be related to a report that shots were fired near an apartment house at 164 Chapin Street, about one block away earlier in the week. No injuries were reported in the November 10 incident and no arrests have been made in that case.
