Members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force say they found about 51 grams of crack cocaine in a search of a Johnson City hotel room.

Task Force officials say the occupants of the room didn’t come out when called and officers made entry the room where they say they saw 36 year old Alvin Young flushing crack cocaine down the toilet.

Authorities were able to recover 51 grams. They also located packaging material, a digital scale, and $13,905 in suspected drug proceeds.

Young is charged with five felony counts of drug sales, drug possession and tampering with evidence as well as a misdemeanor count of criminally using drug paraphernalia.
