Authorities say the immature plants were discovered Thursday in the Town of Barker.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, the healthy plants were located behind a Sapbush Road residence.

Investigators say 58-year-old Robert Byrum, the owner of the property, gave sheriff's deputies permission to access the property to seize the marijuana.

Byrum was charged with unlawful cultivation of cannabis and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was issued an appearance ticket for Barker town court.

The missing teen was located a short time later and was described as "healthy and safe."
