Fans can turn back the clock to last September when Steven Matz electrified a crowd of over 5,900 at NYSEG Stadium when he no-hit the Richmond Flying Squirrels over seven innings, striking out 11 batters and keying the Binghamton Mets to a 2-1 victory in the championship- clinching game that gave Binghamton its third Eastern League title.  Matz is slated to start Wednesday night's game against Erie in a rehab assignment from New York.

Matz is recovering from a partial lat tear and is on the 15-day disabled list.  He made his major league debut on June 28th and went 2-0 with 14 strikeouts in 13.2 innings before getting injured.

Matz is expected to throw 60 pitches in what is hoped as another step back to the Big Leagues.  The Stony Brook, NY native started the season in Triple-A Las Vegas before his mid-season promotion.
