Two Conklin men are accused of having stolen handguns in their possession that had been taken from Gay's True Value Hardware store in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, in Wyoming County.

The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force on May 31 arrested 34 year old John Finnerty, Jr. following a vehicle stop in the Town of Windsor.

Authorities say he had a stolen .380 semi-automatic Cobra Enterprises handgun in his possession.

Later that day, members of Broome County S.I.U. arrested 34 year old Corey Derigo at a home on Hancock Street in the City of Binghamton. Authorities say Derigo had a stolen Taurus .22 semi automatic handgun.

Finnerty has been charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon and felony criminal possession of stolen property.

Derigo is charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon, felony criminal possession of stolen property and was wanted on a warrant for petit larceny in Johnson City.

Police say the pair is also facing additional charges in Pennsylvania.
