A Towanda man is accused of stealing liquor from a recreational vehicle then passing out on another man’s porch.

Pennsylvania State Police say they were called to a home on James Street shortly after 11 p.m. September 17 and say they found 53 year old John Vanderpool lying on the porch, drunk, with a bottle of vodka next to his head.

Troopers say when they approached, Vanderpool, he resisted their verbal direction and authorities used a taser on him.

The authorities say they determined, prior to napping on the porch, Vanderpool had gone to a nearby neighbor’s RV parked in front of a house and stole the vodka.

Vanderpool is charged with burglary, resisting arrest, theft from a motor vehicle and public drunkenness.  He was sent to the Bradford County Jail.
