Gas pads around Northeastern Pennsylvania sport solar panel arrays, and now those structures are apparently the latest targets of thieves.

State Police say overnight on May 27th the wires leading to panels at a Shell Gas site on Grover Road in Canton were cut and four panels stolen.

Shell is also reporting having other incidents of someone tampering with their equipment at other gas sites.

Other companies in the Marcellus Shale play in Bradford and Susquehanna Counties have reported numerous incidents of damage to equipment, as well as theft of metal, compressors and other equipment.

Anyone with information about the solar panel theft is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police at (570) 265-2186.
