Owego Man Charged With Vehicular Assault

Officers of the Owego Police Department were called to a report of a pedestrian who was struck by a motor vehicle last Saturday night at 10:50 PM.  The accident was reported to have occurred on East Main Street. in the Village of Owego..

The victim was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital by the Owego Emergency Squad for examination.  Upon investigation police determined that the operator of the vehicle reportedly involved in the incident was Thomas B. Getzke, age 25 of Owego.

Owego Police report that Getzke was arrested for Vehicular Assault in the 2nd Degree, a Class E felony, Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor and Refusal to Take a Breath Test, a violation.  Getzke was arraigned in Village of Owego Court and released on his own recognizance.
