The Binghamton Patriots edged the Vestal Golden Bears tonight 14-13 at Alumni Stadium in Binghamton.  The win puts Binghamton's record at 3-1 while the Golden Bears drop to 2-2.

The Patriots scored first when quarterback Dan Jeffrey found receiver James Mateya near the end zone.  Mateya made the catch and scampered in for the score.  The PAT was good from Alex Boychuk and that gave Binghamton the 7-0 advantage.

Vestal speedster Justin Dennis got the Golden Bear's on the board with an 84-yard touchdown grab from quarterback Nick Wegmann..  The point after kick was good from Mike Osinski and that tied the game at 7-7.  That's the way the first half ended..

No one could score in the third quarter.  Then in the fourth quarter Daniel Sellepack carried the football off right tackle from six yards out to make it 13-7 Partiots.  Boychuk kicked the point after for a 14-7 Binghamton advantage.

Zach Cook countered with a 20-yard score to put Vestal within one point at 14-13.  But the decision to go for the two-point conversion failed and kept the score 14-13 in favor of the Patriots.  That closed out the scoring as Binghamton's defense tightened to preserve the victory.
