Passenger Charged With Drug Possession in Kirkwood Traffic Stop

A Port Crane woman is facing drug-related charges after Broome County Sheriff’s officials pulled over a vehicle on Route 11 in the Town of Kirkwood November 2.

Deputies say they stopped the vehicle for passing another car in a no passing zone.

During the stop, officials say the passenger, 27 year old Mandy Holmberg, seemed to be acting suspiciously.

A search turned up several syringes, one loaded with heroin in Holmberg’s purse.

Holmberg is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.

She’s been ordered to appear in Town of Fenton Court at a later date.
