Two parolees are being charged in connection with a home invasion in the City of Binghamton.

Police say 38 year old James Sharpe was on parole for a 1994 murder.  He was arrested January 21  on a felony burglary charge.

36 year old Kareem Young of Binghamton was arrested December 31 and charged with felony burglary.

The men are accused of entering a Rutherford Street apartment December 1st, armed with a knife and handgun and assaulting a woman inside.

The 33 year old victim was treated at an area hospital for her injuries and released.

Sharp had pleaded guilty in 1995 in the fatal shooting of 20 year old Binghamton University student Hamza Tawfiq.

He was released on parole last year.

Authorities say they are still gathering information in connection with the home invasion.  Anyone with information can call detectives at (607) 772-7080.
