Alternate side of the street parking in Binghamton is extended again.  Residents will have to follow winter parking rules through Friday, March 24 as snow removal continues.

Officials say cars parked on both sides of plowed streets hamper street widening operations and can impede emergency vehicles.

While residents are advised the alternate parking is extended, motorists are still encouraged to move vehicles off the streets if possible and to help clear snow from around fire hydrants.

The winter parking rules in Johnson City always run through April 1.

Meanwhile, 6 adult and 11 youth members of the local Civil Air Patrol Sunday assisted in snow removal and other human services missions, many of which involved helping residents escape their homes for the first time in five days and gain access to prescription refills, doctor appointments and groceries.
