The Florida International University Panthers proved too much for the Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team tonight (Sunday) in Miami, Florida.  The Panthers topped the Bearcats 74-57.  BU lead for just 5:26 of the game and that was in the early action of the first half.  It was deadlocked at 10-10 when the Panthers went on a 9-0 run and never looked back.

The Bearcats started in strong fashion and were up early 8-4.  Binghamton had a tough time on the glass as FIU out rebounded BU 35-20.  Binghamton got just five offensive rebounds.  The Panthers shot 54 percent from the field compared to 45 percent for Binghamton.

6-9 forward Michael Kessens was the standout for FIU.  He did not miss a shot going 7-7 from the field and scored 18 points.  He also reached double digits in rebounding with ten.  Also scoring 18 points was guard Donte McGill.  Binghamton's J.C. Show led all scorers with 22 points and Bobby Ahearn also scored in double figures with 13 points.

The Bearcats finish their four-game Florida trip with two wins and two losses.  The 4-4 Bearcats return home late Monday night and will host Mansfield State Wednesday night at 7:00 PM at the Events Center.
