Officials in Tioga County are investigating a crash that left a tractor trailer carrying paint on its side off Route 17 near Waverly.

New York State Police say the truck was traveling westbound between exits 62 and 61 in the Town of Barton shortly after 10 p.m. July 10.

Early reports indicated the driver was transported to Robert Packer Hospital but was not believed to be seriously hurt.

The rig was carrying containers of about 45-hundred gallons of Benjamin Moore brand paint.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation officials and the Hazardous Materials team were called in as  aprecaution but none of the paint is believed to have spilled.

A lane of the highway was closed for a time while the mess was cleared up.
