A package mailed to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo turns out NOT to be one of the several explosive devices sent to prominent Democrats and Trump critics on the East Coast this week.

The Governor’s representatives reported that a suspicious package, possibly linked to explosive devices sent to others including the Clintons, former President Barack Obama, billionaire George Soros in Westchester and Time Warner CNN’s New York City newsroom, was sent to his Manhattan offices. The New York City Police Department later determined package sent to the governor was from political activists and contained a flash drive with information about a right wing group that had a scheduled appearance in New York City earlier this month.

The Governor said, in the wake of the mailings, “Out of an abundance of caution, I am deploying additional National Guard soldiers and directing State law enforcement to double security at vital transportation assets across New York.”

By last evening, two more bombs were found.  Both of them addressed to Democrat Representative Maxine Waters of California.

Yesterday, New York State Senator Fred Akshar issued a statement regarding the mailings.  The Binghamton Republican said the “acts of terror” like the bomb packages have no place in society and the perpetrators must be held accountable. Akshar said “No matter your personal political beliefs, as Americans, we must always disagree peacefully and work together.”
