According to officials with the Pennsylvania Game Commission, a Bradford County man is accused of assaulting a Wildlife Conservation Officer.

Authorities say 43 year old Steven Neilson of Monroeton is charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault as well as felony endangering the welfare of children, and misdemeanor charges of making terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, simple assault and fleeing police.

Investigators say the Wildlife Conservation Officer was patrolling an area of State Game Lands 12 near Schrader Creek in Overton when he encountered several people operating all terrain vehicles and dirt bikes in areas posted as closed to motorized vehicles.

The officer accuses Neilson of driving his utility task vehicle toward him while making threats and ended up striking him in the arm before fleeing.

Neilson was sent to the Bradford County Jail on $10,000 bail.
