Several residential and commercial buildings will open their doors this weekend for the annual Home Tour and Auction in the village of Owego.

The event is a fundraiser for the Tioga County Council on the Arts.

Homes and businesses on this year's tour are on Front, Main and Lake streets.

Council executive director Annette Schweiger says the oldest building open for the event was constructed in 1802.

Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, Schweiger said most of the other buildings were built later in the nineteenth century.

There'll be two tours on Saturday. The first will be in the afternoon and the second will be in the evening.

Each tour will start at the Elk's Lodge at the corner of Front and Church streets.

The afternoon tour is scheduled to begin at 1:00 and the evening tour is to get underway at 6:00.

The auction will be held at the Elk's Lodge starting at 8:30. Artistic and collectible items will be offered at the auction, along with services from local establishments.

Tickets for the tour and auction may be obtained at the Elk's Lodge starting at 10:00 Saturday morning. Advance tickets may be purchased by contacting the arts council at 607.687.0785.
