Owego Woman Admits Stealing From Her Employer

Bob Joseph/WNBF News

A Tioga County woman will be sentenced next month after pleading guilty to felony grand larceny in connection with the theft of money from her former employer, Impressions by Brianna.

47 year old Maria McGuane of Owego admitted stealing over $50,000 from the wedding accessories boutique between September 2006 and May 2012 as she used the business’s credit cards for personal items and kept cash transactions instead of depositing them.

The thefts were reportedly uncovered during a review of business records and practices.

McGuane had been employed by the Town of Owego business since 1999.
