Republicans in the town of Owego will vote in a primary election to nominate a candidate for the supervisor's office.

Donald Castellucci is seeking a third four-year term as supervisor. He is being challenged by recently-retired businessman Jonathan Marks.

Castellucci was first elected to the Owego town board in 1995. He was elected town supervisor in 2009 and was reelected in 2013.

Marks said he is "not happy with the lack of transparency" in the existing administration. He said if he's elected, he would govern "with an eye to prudent spending."

Cecilia Menhennett has announced she is running for Owego town supervisor as a Democrat.

The polls for the primary election on Tuesday will be open from noon to 9 p.m.

The general election will be held on November 7.
