The 2018 Owego Strawberry Festival is set for this Friday and Saturday.  The annual event that began 38 years ago brings thousands of visitors to downtown Owego.  With the forecast calling for sunshine, warm temperatures and little chance of rain organizers may see record or near record crowds.

Bradley Crews, President of the Board of Directors of the Historic Owego Marketplace, visited with Roger Neel on WNBF's First News Morning Show on Monday and talked about this year's event.  The festivities begin Friday at 5 P.M. and run til 10 P.M. Then on Saturday the Festival's hours are 10 A.M. til 5 P.M.

Special features are the Friday night fireworks show that begins at 10 P.M. and the Parade on Saturday scheduled to start at 10 A.M. There are 20 bands slated to perform throughout the two days.  Hundreds of vendors including food booths, art exhibits and craft displays will line downtown Owego streets.
