Owego Free Academy Teacher is Deployed to Afghanistan

Owego Free Academy technology education teacher Mike Oddo has been deployed for a one-year tour in Afghanistan with the Army Reserves.

Command Sergeant Major Oddo serves with the 365th Engineer Battalion, United States Army Reserves. The unit provides mission command of several engineering companies in Afghanistan.

Oddo began active military service in the U.S. Army in 1978.

The Command Sergeant Major reported to friends at OFA that he passed his physical and joked they took back a "crusty old timer like me."

Faculty and students in the Owego Apalachin district recently presented Oddo with gifts to remember them by while he is deployed.
