The Owego Apalachin School District is waiting for its final flood recovery check.

U.S. Senator Charles Schumer of New York says the final $11.4 million check from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the second phase of the recovery from the 2011 flood is in the mail.

The funds are to be used for rebuilding the OA district administration building and the storage and maintenance operations outside the flood plain.

The district got the first $5 million from FEMA in March.

The federal money covers 75% of the total $23 million recovery cost.
