The Owego Apalachin Board of Education has selected a successor to retiring Superintendent William Russell.

The board appointed Corey Green to the post at its meeting Thursday.

Russell is to retire as superintendent on June 30, after serving in the job for a decade.

The 41-year-old Green is scheduled to start work as Owego Apalachin superintendent on July 1.
