Otsego Man Accused of Stealing From Grandma

An Oneonta man is facing 17 felony counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and other charges after New York State Police accused him of stealing from his grandmother.

23 year old Aaron Macken was arrested April 7 after Troopers responded to a report of a burglary at a home on Hansen Road in Davenport.

In addition to $750 worth of damage to some windows and kitchen cabinets at the home, Macken is accused of stealing $5,500 from his elderly grandmother’s checking account, cashing fraudulent checks over the past year.

The grandmother does not live at the home.

Macken was sent to the Otsego County Jail on $5,000 bail.
