Authorities in the Oneonta area have issued a warning about suspected tainted heroin.

According to "The Daily Star" of Oneonta, police believe two recent deaths may have been the result of heroin that is stronger than usual.

The newspaper reports there have been heroin overdoses in several communities in recent days.

Otsego County ambulance squads were said to have been busy responding to a series of overdose cases.

Police suspect the heroin may have been cut with a material that increased its potency.

Investigators plan to review autopsy results of those who died of recent overdoses.
