The new business will be located on a site that for decades was home to Parisi's Twin Freeze.

Manjot Dhillon of PNK Restaurant Corporation said the A&W at 439 Court Street is scheduled to open on April 4.

Dhillon said about 40 people are expected to be hired before the opening. Applications are being accepted at a co-owned A&W Restaurant on the Vestal Parkway.

The site for the new Binghamton eatery was cleared last October. Dhillon said the property had been idle for several years after the previous business closed.

Dhillon said the east side of the building now being finished on Court Street will house the A&W Restaurant. He said a smaller section on the west side of the building will be available for another business. He said a tenant could lease that portion of the structure for office space or perhaps another fast-food restaurant.

Dhillon said residents who live near the soon-to-open A&W seem to be excited about the new business being developed at the long-dormant property.
