An Oneonta man is facing a felony charge after New York State Police responded to a complaint about two youths drinking alcohol in the parking lot of a business on Chestnut Street.

34 year old Michael Bennett is charged with felony contempt, false personation, unlawfully dealing with a child, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Troopers say when they got to the Rite Aid store parking lot March 15, they saw a man and a 17 year old girl drinking alcohol.

Authorities say there was an order of protection against Bennett, barring him from contact with the girl.

Troopers say when they attempted to take Bennett into custody, he resisted arrest.

He was sent to the Otsego County Jail on $5,000 bail.

The teen is charged with underage possession of alcohol.  She was ordered to appear in Town of Oneonta court later this month.
