Two Oneida County men have been accused of stealing about $600 worth of merchandise from the Norwich Walmart store.

Authorities say the suspects were chased from the store on Route 12 by Walmart employees.

According to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, the men were apprehended nearby. They were said to be in possession of the stolen items.

Investigators say 24-year-old Allen Sorrell and 22-year-old Joshua Wishart, both of Rome, were charged with petit larceny, conspiracy and resisting arrest.

Sorrell also was charged with possession of a hypodermic instrument.

The suspects were arraigned in Norwich town court and ordered held in Chenango County Jail on $10,000 bail.
