The Binghamton Bearcats Athletic Association will host the 10th annual Celebrating Women's Athletics Luncheon presented by M & T Bank on Monday, February 2 at noon at the Events Center.  This year's featured speaker will be Rebecca Lobo, an Olympic Champion and WNBA star.  Lobo is now an analyst for ESPN.

The luncheon is held to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of Binghamton University's female student-athletes.  It also raises scholarship funding for female student athletes at the University.

Lobo had a stellar playing career.  She was a four-year standout for the Connecticut Huskies and a two-time first-team All-American there. In the 1994-95 season Lobo led her team to a 35-0 record and was named the Naismith Women's College Basketball Player of the Year. The Associated Press also named her as the 1995 Female Athlete of the Year.

In 1996 Lobo played for the USA Team  that captured a gold medal.  Following her standout amateur career Lobo starred in the WNBA  and played seven seasons in that league.  In 2010 Lobo was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame.

The luncheon is open to the public.  Table sponsorships are available.  To purchase tickets call 77-BTIX (2849).
