Oktoberfest Is Here

The Annual Oktoberfest Celebration continued today (Sunday) at Most Holy Rosary Church, 2596 Main Street in Maine, NY.  The event started Friday evening and conclude Sunday afternoon.

Visitors travel from all over the area and even out of state to attend Oktoberfest.  Food items include their signature clam chowder, halupki, piroghi and halushki along with sausage sandwiches, hamburgers and pizza. By mid-afternoon several thousand halupkis had been sold.

Oktoberfest features live musical entertainment Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.  The celebration includes a bake sale with homemade pies, brownies and other delicious baked goods.

Oktoberfest wraps up the festival season in the area.  There are numerous bazaars and festivals beginning in June and running through this first weekend in October.
