Governor Andrew Cuomo said he would debate Republican challenger Marc Molinaro on the radio. Molinaro dismissed the offer as a "cheap stunt."

Cuomo has refused to debate Molinaro or any of the other candidates running against him.

During a telephone interview on WCBS 880 Friday morning, the governor was offered an opportunity to participate in a discussion with Molinaro on Saturday.

Cuomo replied: "I am here. If you want to call me tomorrow, I will be here. If you want to do it with Mr., uh, Molinaro, I will be here." But the governor said the station had to let him know "because it's my daughter's parents' weekend at college."

Molinaro rejected Cuomo's suggestion of a hurriedly-arranged debate. He called Cuomo's move a "staged fraud."

Molinaro suggested the governor was trying to shut upstate voters out of the debate by calling for it to be held at the last-minute on a Saturday morning on a New York City radio station.
