The president is expected to arrive at the Binghamton University Vestal campus around midday Friday for a town hall meeting.

Traffic in the area of the campus will be affected by the influx of people who plan to attend the presidential event, as well as students who may be returning to campus for fall semester classes.

Binghamton University has announced the main campus entrance is to be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. The road around the center of the Vestal campus also is scheduled to be out of service during that time.

Closures could occur on the Vestal Parkway and possibly along Route 201 and nearby highways.

The president is scheduled to travel to the Binghamton area Friday. After leaving Vestal, Obama is to head to Scranton for a planned appearance with Vice President Joe Biden.
