It appears President Barack Obama may be visiting the Binghamton area soon.

Politico on Monday afternoon reported the president was expected to "make a string of stops upstate" as part of his effort to stress economic issues.

The Albany Times-Union cited a "source familiar with travel logistics" as indicating a bus tour was planned in upstate New York "later next week."

YNN's State of Politics blog later cited its Washington-based reporter as confirming Obama will visit Binghamton, Syracuse, Buffalo and Scranton during the tour.

There was no specific information regarding exactly where the president was planning to go or the likely dates.

It was not known whether Governor Andrew Cuomo would join the president during any upstate appearances.
