NY Sheriff’s Association Institute Seeks Donations for Kids

In the wake of numerous scams recently involving callers claiming to be raising money for police organizations, Delaware County Sheriff Thomas Mills wants people to know the New York State Sheriff’s Association Institute really is  having a membership drive over the next few days.

The program sends economically challenged children to the Sheriff’s Summer Camp on Keuka Lake.

Mills says residents an expect a mailing from his office asking for tax-deductible contributions.

Mills reminds residents that the organization never uses telemarketing to raise money and letters sent to residents clearly state that it’s an invitation to donate.
