New York State Senator Fred Akshar and other co-Chairs of the Joint Senate Task Force on Heroin and Opioid Addiction are hosting several forums around the state to look at the issues New York faces in the drug epidemic.

The first forum is February 6 at 5 p.m. at Binghamton University’s Innovative Technologies Complex, Center of Excellence, Building Rotunda on Murray Hill Road in Vestal.

Other sessions are set for Thursday, February 15 at Pace University in Pleasantville and Wednesday, February 28 at Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson, New York.

Akshar said there is no “silver bullet” in solving the heroin/opioid epidemic so it’s important to listen to families and communities impacted across the state.
