The New York Mets open the 2016 season at Kansas City on April 3rd with hopes of taking that final step in October and win a World Series Championship after falling just short last year.  As was the case all of last season there are plenty of former Binghamton Mets in the New York lineup.

In Graefruit League action Tuesday Matt Harvey made his first Spring Training start against the Atlanta Braves in Lake Buena Vista.  Harvey went three innings and gave up one run on three hits.  Wilmer Flores led the Mets with three hits.

Wednesday, Jacob deGrom is the scheduled starter when the Mets face Ivan Nova and the New York Yankees.  That is set for a 1:10 PM starting time.  Curtis Granderson is expected to make his first appearance of Spring Training after being sidelined from game action by an eye problem.
