A nurse has been arrested for allegedly taking narcotics from Southern Tier nursing home patients.

Authorities say 45-year-old Lisa Rumsmoke Clark was accused of diverting nearly 200 pills intended for residents at Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Horseheads.

Investigators say Rumsmoke Clark, who lives in Watkins Glen, was charged with eight felony counts of falsifying business records and eight counts of petit larceny. She also was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

According to New York state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, Rumsmoke Clark completed several records indicating narcotic drugs were administered to eight nursing home residents. Investigators say the woman actually diverted the drugs for her personal use.

Rumsmoke Clark was arraigned before a Horseheads town court judge. She was expected to return to court on Thursday.
