A Norwich woman is accused of robbing two banks in Broome County in a week.

New York State Police and the Broome County Sheriff’s Office report 36 year old Jamie Blewett was arrested May 8 in connection with a robbery earlier in the day at the Peoples National Bank on Conklin Road and a similar robbery May 1st at the Peoples Bank branch on Upper Front Street in the Town of Chenango.

In both cases, the robber was described as a white woman wearing a dark brown or auburn wig.

In the May 1st robbery, the woman indicated she had a weapon but none was seen.

May 8, New York State Troopers were able to find a silver minivan that had been seen leaving the scene, heading north toward the City of Binghamton.

Blewett was stopped on Conklin Avenue near Tompkins Street and taken into custody.

Blewett is charged with two felony robbery counts and sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
