Johnson City Police are investigating an injury at the Rob Salamida Company plant on Diment Street in the Village.

Authorities got a report September 28 that a 33 year old Norwich man fell into a vinegar vat at the facility.

The man apparently lost consciousness when he was overcome with fumes as he was cleaning the holding container.

He suffered chemical irritation injuries and respiratory issues. He was taken to Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center.

His name and condition have not been released.
