A Norwich man is pleading not guilty to federal charges connected to an investigation into child pornography.

55 year old John Stacy is under indictment on five felony count of receipt of child pornography and one count of felony possession of child pornography.  Federal prosecutors say the alleged incidents happened in August.

Stacy was previously jailed after being convicted of use of a child in a sexual performance and has been accused of failure to file his social media information with law enforcement agencies.

Authorities say Stacy is a Level 2 sex offender that was recorded following a 2002 conviction.

Federal Prosecutors say if convicted on the allegations of keeping sexual images of children under the age of 12 on his cell phone, he could be sentenced to 15 to 40 years in prison.
