The National Weather Service is cautioning Twin Tier residents about another chance for heavy rain and rising water.

The Binghamton office says a front will stall near northeast Pennsylvania and southern New York, late in the day and overnight August 10, bringing a chance for repeated thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall. A few spots could experience flash flooding, especially for locations that have already recently had significant rainfall. If confidence in this potential increases, a Flash Flood Watch could be needed for a part of the area.

Forecasters say locally heavy rainfall will continue to be a possibility from a stalled front in the vicinity on August 11.

Additionally, an upper level low pressure system is forecast to move through the area Sunday night through Tuesday. The resulting showers and thunderstorms also may include locally heavy rainfall. Be sure to check the latest forecast updates on this potential.
