A pipe break resulted in the discharge of untreated sewage into a creek in Vestal.

According to an alert issued around 2 p.m. Wednesday, the problem occurred in a sewer easement along Choconut Creek.
The report's discharge description indicated there were "no visible floatables or odor" at the time the break was discovered.
The rate of discharge was estimated to be between 10 and 20 gallons a minute. The waste that was flowing into the creek was described as "untreated."
The broken sewer line was blamed on flood damage. The alert indicated repairs were planned to contain the discharge.
The report stated the discharge location for the pipe is near 1933 Glenwood Road, which is east of Rayelene Drive.
