No Seat Belts Used in Serious Injury Crash in Delhi

Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say none of the occupants of a vehicle that crashed on Bell Hill Road in the Town of Delhi at 5:10 p.m. April 17 was wearing a seat belt.

Passenger, 24 year old Jesse-Lee Demarco of Watertown suffered serious head injury, 20 year  old middle seat passenger, Alex Brimmer of Dexter, New York suffered serious chest and head injury while driver, 18 year old Cameron Cotto of Ithaca suffered minor injury and two other passengers, 26 year old Terry Burton Junior of Phoenix, New York and 32 year old Sean Berry of Dexter, New York reported they weren’t hurt.

First Responders extracted two rear passengers from the vehicle.

Officials say Cotto missed a curve while driving east when his vehicle left the road and hit a number of trees.

Deputies say they do not believe at this time that drugs or alcohol were contributing factors but anticipate charges will be filed once the investigation wraps up.
