There will be no more basketball games at a couple of Johnson City parks until further notice.

Village officials are not specific about the reason behind the move in a statement that was issued by the mayor’s office, saying only “due to recent incidents at CFJ Park, the Village of Johnson City has removed the basketball hoops from CFJ Park and Northside Park.”

The Village Department of Public Works said they were only told to remove the hoops, but not told why.

The Village parks actually officially closed for the season on Labor Day.
