Apples take the spotlight this weekend in Newark Valley.  The 35th annual Apple Festival in Newark Valley will be held at the Bement-Billings Farmstead at 9241 on Route 38.  The Apple Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM - 5  PM each day.

The Apple Festival is the main fund-raiser for the Newark Valley Historical Society.  There is a $6.00 admission fee for adults.  There will be live music both days including bluegrass, folk, country and blues.

Apples and food are obvious highlights of the two-day event.  There will be fresh cider, apple pies and apple crisps available.  In addition Bob's Barbecue will be there along with Iron Kettle Soup.

A complete lineup of events and activities can be found at nvhistory.org.  WNBF's Roger Neel will broadcast live from the Newark Valley Applefest Saturday morning from 10 AM - 12 Noon.
