New York State Police are currently investigating three incidents where railroad ballast was thrown onto two area roadways.  Police report ballast was thrown onto Interstate 88 and West Service Road on Saturday, September 6 between 10:38 AM and 11 AM.

Three vehicles sustained damage from the ballast.  No injuries were reported.  Police say that although there was no one injured  the potential exists for car crashes, driver injuries and even death from  being hit by ballast or crashing because of it.

State Police are urging anyone with information to contact them at 775-1241.  They also urge anyone who sees individuals trespassing on railroad property, loitering on overpasses or doing any vandalism to contact State Police at  775-1241.
