New York State Police Chase Speeding Harley in Endwell

An Endicott man is charged with unlawful fleeing a police officer after New York State Police say a trooper from the Endwell barracks saw a Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling at 81 mph on State Route 17 August 10 in a 55 mph zone.

Authorities say 47 year old Thomas McAvoy accelerated, instead of pulling over for the trooper, reaching a top speed of 115 mph.

When he finally pulled over, troopers say a small bag of marijuana was found in his possession.

In addition to the fleeing charge and a number of traffic violations, McAvoy was ticketed for unlawful possession of marijuana and ordered to appear in Town of Union Court at a later date.

There were no injuries.
